Clear & Close

Eli has a pair of cheap binoculars that my dad gave him on our last visit home. Previously he has only carried them around inside the house. He usually looks through the wrong end and announces what he sees.

Yesterday morning was the first time that he has taken them outside. He marched around the driveway, looking through the right end, and said, “Everything is so clear and close!”

I laughed at the amazement in his voice.
