Argh! The Elements of Style?? Mrs. Geiger would be proud. Or was it Mrs. Young?
Anyway, I’ve heard David Sedaris on NPR before and he is very funny. I’ll have to get this book. And I think he is the brother of the Strangers With Candy creator.

Yeah, so my experience with this book (and a few other Sedaris books) was to read it aloud to someone else at bedtime. I tell, you that is HI-larious. Basically, what happens is that you’re reading along, and then in the middle of a sentence, you see the funny thing six words ahead and then crack up, unable to speak. The read-ee then then sits there like “ok, so I know something funny is about to happen… will you please stop laughing and read it already?” The trouble is that it doesn’t really make you sleepy

It’s been at least three, if not four, years since I read that book. I want to go back and re-read it because I know that there’s a lot that I’ve forgotten. I’m glad that you enjoyed the book. It was one of my more favorite reads.
