Coughy With a 100% Chance of Ill
Liza’s been sick the last several days, congested like Hartsfield-Jackson Airport at Christmastime. She can’t breathe, and when we put her in her crib, she chokes, coughs, and wakes up. The only way we’ve gotten her to sleep for extended periods of time is by sitting in the recliner in her room and letting her lie on us. Needless to say, it’s hard to get a lot of sleep when she’s writhing on you.
That’s where we’ve been over the weekend. Expect normal posting to resume when we’ve had more sleep.

Flashbacks here, too. Luckily, Z had his own recliner, so we would let him sleep in that on his own. But I would pop up every 30 minutes to make sure the recliner was okay, so no rest.

Vicks on feet.
It’s supposed to be an urban legend, and I don’t know any scientific explanation for why it works - but it does.
Or did for us anyway. Vicks says their product is safe for infants over 6 months, so no worries there.
I don’t know if it would deal with the worst part of the cold - but when Ivy was coughing in her sleep and waking up it would help her get to sleep without coughing, and keep her from doing it most of the night, toned down at least to where she didn’t wake herself up.
YMMV, but it worked great for us.

Huh. We’ve been using Vicks on her chest and back, with mixed results. We’ll have to try the feet next time.
Thankfully, last night she was much better.

Hurgh… man, that’s rough. Here’s hoping that Liza gets better soon and that all of you get back to a normal sleeping schedule.
