The only one problem is that, despite the trite and kinda-sad meaning behind that song it had a fairly good hook.
It was catchy. I remember singing it long after I heard it the first time. I’m pretty sure, w/o listening to it, that I could recall it even now.
Their relationship might not last, but a good hook is worth the breakup.
i loved that song. i think it all had to do with my love of breakfast at tiffany’s and audrey hepburn.
I admit that I never really paid attention to the lyrics, but I always assumed the superficial nature of them both kind of liking the movie was the whole point of the song.
The hook is certainly enough to drag you along. Since I heard a snippet of it a few days ago I’ve been unable to get it out of my head. Thankfully, it has such deep things to teach us. “It’s plain to see we’re over, and I hate when things are over.” Me too, Deep Blue Something, me too.
