Eight, Eight, Oh-Eight at Eight O’Clock

Who has Olympic fever? We do! We do!

I didn’t watch the Olympics when I was a kid. I’m not sure why, I guess I didn’t get it. Stephen and I started watching sometime while we lived in Durham. If it’s summer, I swear it is my favorite. If it is winter, then that is my favorite.

While I agree with some of the things Geof said in his post about the Olympics, I still can’t help myself from getting chill bumps at the opening ceremonies and feeling a kinship with the whole rest of the world.

I agree, Misty. I grew up watching the Olympics in our house. I looked forward to every one of them. While part of me cringes at what the Chinese people suffered to get such beautiful venues, the other part of me can’t help but watch and cheer for the athletes that had no control over any of it.

Mind you, it’s not been very easy for me to keep from watching. I keep wanting to tune in and see Phelps or something.
