He’s not just emo. He’s fully bipolar. I’m hoping that changes once Tennant and RTD have moved on, but having seen the next Doctor’s face, I’m not too confident.
(Also, I don’t think this is really a reboot, is it? I think this is still supposed to be in continuity, inasmuch as Doctor Who ever cared about continuity.)
Jota: Apparently the biploar disorder extends to most of the characters in the new Who. Captain Jack goes all weepy when the Daleks show up at the end of Season 4, then is heroic again when The Doctor(tm) shows up. I guess England’s socialized medical care can’t get the dose right
