Vampires and werewolves tell Bella how astoundingly special she is, and Bella in turn faints a lot.
Mind you, I’ve still got a giant chunk of the last novel to go through, and the series as a whole has an OH JOHN RINGO NO vibe that’s only getting worse. We’ll see how I feel at the end.

I have resisted all Twilight movies/books. I don’t get the appeal.
I think we need to start an OH STEPHENIE MEYER WHAT or OH STEPHENIE MEYER HELLLLL NO meme.
Also, I seriously can’t believe you’re reading them. Didn’t you hurt your brain enough in grad school?

The movie Twilight was playing on one of the planes on our San Francisco trip. I didn’t have the sound on and wasn’t really paying attention, but I did catch one scene where it looks like they were playing vampire baseball. Then it seems three people from the cast of Rent showed up, and the baseball players and the Rent cast snarled at each other a bit.
Seth: I’d say that Buffy would have “spiked” Edward in the sense that she probably would have done what she did with Spike and drag him into a handy under-construction building.
starlady: I was curious about why they’re so popular. I was pleasantly surprised that the first book was as entertaining as it was, and I’ve now got theories about the series’ popularity. Sounds like it’s time for another blog post!
