So this is what our day has been like. There’ve been storms, high straight-line winds, and the occasional tornado playing merry hob with us in and around Huntsville. To the south of my house, trees are down everywhere and the power’s out. On my way home I passed one house whose roof had been crumpled up and over it like the cover to a roll-top desk.<\/p>\n

We’re all okay, though Eli and Liza are a little on edge from crouching in a hallway filled with pillows and blankets. “Will the tornado whirl us around and around and around?” Liza kept asking.
