He says &#8220;please&#8221; and &#8220;thank you,&#8221; and follows most of our directions. A few weeks ago we were at the supermarket and the woman behind the meat counter said of Eli, &#8220;He minds so well!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Since I am a generous and kind soul, I will show you how we manage Eli&#8217;s behavior.<\/p>\n<div class=\"centerimage\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/2006\/Oct\/eli-inna-cage.jpg\" alt=\"Eli inside a large dog crate\" title=\"You can see how happy he is.\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The trick is to start cage training at an early age.
