I am having a similar problem in getting my car tag renewed. I made the tragic mistake of moving since my last renewal. NO ONE in Mr. Mark Craig’s office will answer the phone. I literally let it ring for almost 20 mins. I finally called the main number to the courthouse and demanded the answering party take down my name & number & have them call me back. I seriously do not expect for them to return my call. I have a question (I’m going to put this in all caps so that someone may notice this & respond): DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN MARK CRAIG’S TERM EXPIRES?! I want to know this so that I can vote against him in the next election. The only reason he got elected to this position in the first place was due to nepotism. When Emmett Sanders was in charge of the License Dept we didn’t have these problems!

You’re terribly eager to throw around “ignorant” and “stupid”, and yet you think that working for the county as a isn’t working for the government, which is like claiming that you don’t work for a business because The Boeing Company doesn’t have the word “business” in its name. Your reading comprehension skills aren’t too hot, either, since nowhere did Misty claim that Mark Craig destroyed the title. And the idea that you have to do something before you can criticize it is foolish. Do you ever criticize a TV show, and if so, have you written or produced your own TV shows?

And since you’ve brought up the election, how should I know that Mark Craig is an excellent license director? We’ve never seen him, and the only evidence we have of his work is what we see when we go renew our licenses. The only thing I’ve seen from his campaign are large yard signs reading, “Re-elect Mark Craig”. Why? What has he done? Or, conversely, what’re the holes in Susan Newman’s claims?

And aslo this needs to be said, the only way that Susan Newman is going to end the lines, is to keep people from procrastinating and waiting until the last day of the month to come in to one of our offices. She should not get elected.

well, seems to me like that isnt Mark Craig’s fault. Afterall he did not destroy your title. It was the usps. I think you are ignorant. It is not an easy job and unless you have work for the county ( thats right, its not the government) you really can not talk. Yes it was an inconvience, but it is not a reason for him to not get re-elected. Mark Craig is an excellent License Director and im sure that you are too stupid to understand that

At this point in time we are still developing our strategies. The general election is in November so it is still very early in the process. But know, that we also recognize the problems that have not been addressed in Mark Craig’s term. We have several ideas that I think are very good in addressing several of the issues you discussed here. This does not fully answer your question, but we want to fully develop our strategies before we reveal them. This past Friday was the deadline for candidates to declare themselves candidates so we are not nearly a week old in our campaign. We will continue to develop our strategies over the next month or so and hope to begin truly campaigning in June.

License Director Mark Craig, a Democrat and the son of Commissioner Jerry Craig, will face Republican Susan Newman. A part-time bone density and neurosensory technician at SportsMed Orthopaedic Surgery & Spine Center, Newman plans to officially enter the race today.

“I’m extremely excited about this campaign and this election year,” she said Wednesday. “My theme is, ‘Are you tired of waiting in line?’ ” for a vehicle tag.
